About 3 weeks ago I sold an item to a buyer from Canada, packaged it very carefully, and sent it by registered priority mail (value approx. PLN 300). After about 12 days the buyer received the item and left positive feedback praising the speed of delivery and the quality of the packaging. How surprised I was when, about a week later, the buyer opened a dispute for not receiving the item and eBay blocked the funds. I wrote to support, pointed out the positive feedback, and the case was closed according to common sense in my favor. At the same time, eBay removed the buyer’s feedback (they did not remove mine). Shortly after that the buyer appealed, citing the lack of tracking (Canada Post does not allow foreign registered letters to be tracked), and he won the case. I wrote to support pointing out the irrationality of the situation, but unfortunately they backed the thief and together stole from me. eBay removed the most important piece of evidence in the case—the buyer’s feedback—and now it will be harder to achieve anything in court or with the police. It looks like if a thief from Canada, the USA, or some other "civilized" country without tracking plans to rob a seller, eBay will help him.
