Textbooks: almost new or used?
I'm in my first year of law school and I'm wondering whether it's better to buy new books or look for used ones. On the one hand, new means I'm sure I have the latest edition, but on the other hand, used ones are cheaper. What do you do?

·1 year agoIt depends on the subject and the instructor. Some books change practically every year, because the laws get updated, and then it really is better to buy new ones. But there are also ones you can safely buy used, because the differences between editions are minimal. I usually first check whether a given textbook even has a newer version, and if not, I look for used copies. But if you want to be sure you have up-to-date content, it’s worth buying from bookstores specializing in legal literature, e.g. here: https://lexliber.pl/ – they often have new releases, so you don’t have to wonder whether something is outdated.
