Front door to the house
I'm building a house and I'm thinking about the front door. I want something modern, durable, and energy-efficient. I've heard that aluminum is in style now, but I don't know if it's actually a better choice than wood or uPVC? I'd be grateful for any specific advice because I'm hearing different opinions...

·10 months agoWell, I’d recommend it myself. The biggest advantage of aluminum is that you don’t have to maintain it like wood - it doesn’t crack, you don’t have to paint it every few years, and it’s not afraid of moisture. Aluminum profiles are durable, so you can have larger structures with slim frames, which gives a wow effect. Thermal insulation used to be aluminum’s weak point, but now with thermal breaks and good glazing, you can easily achieve passive-house-level performance. Security is also at a very high level; aluminum doors with the right hardware are really a tough nut to crack for burglars. You can choose practically any color from the RAL palette, so matching it to the facade isn’t a problem. The downside is the price, aluminum is more expensive than PVC, but in my opinion it’s worth paying once and paying well for quality. I built last year and in the end I went with aluminum and I’m super happy. It’s worth checking out the offer from reputable aluminum systems manufacturers; I found good info here https://www.reynaers.pl/produkty/drzwi-aluminiowe where they describe the different systems and their parameters in detail.
