Aluminum doors - are they worth it?
I'm thinking about replacing my front door and I'm considering aluminum ones, but I have no experience with them. How do they hold up in practice? I mean things like durability, insulation, appearance, and whether they're even worth it. I'm a bit worried they'll be cold or scratch quickly. Anyone got any thoughts?

·1 year agoI've had aluminum doors for a while now and overall they're pretty good, but of course it all depends on the specific model and manufacturer. That thing about the cold isn't entirely true, because if you have a well-made construction with a thermal break, it keeps the heat in pretty well. As for the look, aluminum actually gives you a lot of options – you can have something minimalist, you can have something more classic, it depends on what you like. I'd say the plus is that these doors are rigid and don't move around like wooden ones, so you don't have to adjust them every season. I don't have any problems with scratches either, and I'm not exactly gentle with them. If you want to take a look, here's a pretty solid page with options: https://www.reynaers.pl/produkty/drzwi-aluminiowe – maybe that’ll help you get a better idea.
