Management by objectives in a company
We’re implementing management by objectives in the company, and I get the feeling employees see it as extra bureaucracy rather than a development tool. How can we make MBO actually work instead of being just a paper obligation?

An employee who helped co-create their goals has a completely different sense of responsibility for achieving them than someone who was handed a list from the HR department. Goals also need to be realistic and measurable, because no one knows how to achieve a goal like improve communication in the team without concrete indicators. It’s also worth making sure there’s a regular monthly review, not just an annual conversation, because goals set in January may lose their meaning in March when the company’s priorities change. More about MBO mechanisms and typical mistakes is at https://radio5.com.pl/2024/04/zarzadzanie-przez-cele-czym-jest-i-jak-dziala/ and I recommend reading it before the next goal cycle.
