eBay listed the wrong last name
Summary: mamaksymow0 raised a concern about an incorrect surname being displayed on eBay. guangxi_hone responded, but no further details were provided.
I have a problem collecting a parcel. On my eBay account, I have my correct first and last name entered (matching my ID). This is visible in the address details and purchase history – eBay addresses me by my first name in emails.
Unfortunately, when shipping the package, eBay pulled my Google account name, and that exact “first and last name” ended up on the label. The parcel has already arrived in Poland and a notice has been issued.
At the post office they may refuse to hand it over to me because the details on the parcel don’t match my identity document. But I do have proof in the form of a screenshot from my eBay account showing the correct details and my address.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
- Will Poczta Polska/the courier release the parcel if the address matches but the surname is different?
- What’s the best way to solve this problem so the shipment doesn’t go back to the sender?

·10 months agoThe post office releases parcels according to the address. Even if there is no surname or it says e.g. “resident” or “tenant,” they will hand it over if the address on the parcel and on the ID match.
