PROBLEM WITH CARD PAYMENTS FROM ALIOR.
Hey, does anyone have a similar problem? The woman from the bank helpline said it was because of the PSD2 directive, except that this directive has been in effect since 1/01/2021, and the problem happened two days ago, and there's absolutely no way to pay for two transactions.

Except that the guy from Paypal said it’s about transaction authentication with some 3DS 2.0 method that Alior introduced pretty quickly, while Paypal uses the 1.0 method; he said they won’t come to an agreement anytime soon. All that’s left is to deposit currency into the Paypal account or use another account

OP3 years agoI'm talking about this: "PayPal is unable to process your payment at this time. You can try changing the payment method inside of your PayPal account or select a different payment method." , as for the card and Google Pay, it's this: "Please use a different card or check your balance.". I don't have any other cards besides Alior. Neither the foreign-currency one nor the PLN one will let the transfer go through. The woman on the helpline was babbling about this directive and saying I should write to eBay so they can let these transactions through for me, what a circus.

·3 years agowriting to Ebay doesn’t do anything because it’s PayPal trying to take money from your bank account and it’s the bank that declines the transaction

OP3 years agoDamn, the topic got closed after your reply was accepted 🙂 thanks. Anyway, it looks pretty bad, the woman at the bank didn’t know anything, she was talking nonsense about the directive that’s been around for 2.5 years, I tell her there’s definitely something her company changed, and she plays dumb, saying no. So what now, are we stuck losing money on PayPal’s MEGA AMAZING currency conversion again???? this multi-currency card from Alior misses the point if it comes to eBay, that’s how it looks. I have no idea who has a good card, because BZWBK, years ago, wanted 30 PLN for every eBay purchase, so after 1 purchase I ended my cooperation with them.

·3 years agoYou can transfer cash (USD) from Alior to Paypal. but I don’t know what the cost is. for now I transferred 100 zł to my Paypal account but it still hasn’t shown up in the account (I don’t know if it will show up and when, because it’s zloty) later I may try transferring USD, because theoretically you’re transferring to a Paypal account that is with Santander in Poland.

OP3 years agoWell, apparently to a PayPal account from Poland, you can only put in PLN and they’ll convert it for us at an unfavorable rate, which I avoided for over a dozen years after reading a post by some guy who figured out that you shouldn’t pay in PLN but in the currency the item was listed in. Anyway, it’s surprising that only two people chimed in on the topic—do others not have problems with this? Maybe someone called the bank?

Maybe because people feel like puking when they read your posts: "the woman from the bank helpline", "blabbered on", "rambled", etc.
