Importing from China from a private person - question about customs duty, VAT
Good evening everyone 🙂 I'm planning to buy a radio from China - used, from a private person who deals with this and has 100% positive feedback.
The radio costs $599 + $90 shipping. How do I calculate customs duty on this kind of equipment? What percentage do I need to add? I'd like to know roughly what costs I can expect. Unfortunately, this equipment rarely appears on the local market, so I have to bite the bullet. Regards, Łukasz

·2 years agoThe customs duty will be small (like 2%?), if they calculate it at all.
You can find out exactly from the tariff tables on the Ministry of Finance website.
They may charge VAT if they decide at the border to open the package. They very often open electronics.
