Selling a car after damage
I'm thinking about repairing the engine after the damage, but the service won't give full costs without removing the cylinder head. Is it worth taking on such a repair, or is it better to sell the car in its current condition?

·9 months agoA workshop won’t give you exact costs without removing the cylinder head, because there’s no way to assess the full extent of the damage. In the optimistic version, we’re talking about replacing the piston rings, valve stem seals, and machining the head — that’s usually around PLN 2–2.5k. But as you know, once the engine is already apart, it “makes sense” to do the timing belt right away, and then often more things come up along the way. In the end, it can end up being much more expensive than you originally expected.

·9 months agoLook for another service. There are some that will tell you what might be required in the worst case.
What’s going on? Is the cylinder not working? Did the piston break off?
