The annual cost is electricity - for us, when we calculated it, it was about 20 kWh a month + filters 100-200 zł a year, if you add an anti-smog one, it's a bit more. Pros - it brings fresh filtered air into the house (without dust and dirt from the neighbors’ chimney), it’s warmed - no cold draft from the windows, it dries the air - no wet windows, no mold on the seals, you don’t have to regularly go around opening windows to air out the house, in summer you don’t have to put screens on the windows so mosquitoes or flies don’t get in, there’s no stuffiness in the house - if you have more guests, you turn up the speed.
