3D printed prototype
I need to print a few prototype enclosures for electronics and have no idea how much it costs. I don’t have my own printer and I’m not very familiar with the technology. Is it possible to outsource 3D printing, and how does pricing work?

·1 month agoIt is possible and it's a completely normal service. The price depends mainly on three things: the amount of material that goes into the print, the printing time, and the material you want the part made from. For prototypes of electronics enclosures, PLA or ABS is usually used, which is the cheapest option. To get a quote, you need to have a 3D file in STL or STEP format and send it to the company; they calculate it automatically or manually and give you the price.
