Currants are not fruiting well
Hey everyone! I have currant bushes in my garden, but for some reason they’ve had very few fruits on them for the past two years. The leaves are green, they look healthy, but there are practically no fruits. What am I doing wrong? Maybe they’re lacking something?

·1 year agoHi, I had a similar problem myself. If the leaves are healthy, then it’s probably a matter of fertilizing or pruning. Currants like being pruned, because old shoots don’t fruit as well. The important thing is to prune them after fruiting, preferably in early autumn. The other thing is the soil – maybe it’s too poor? It’s worth giving them some fertilizer, preferably one with potassium, because that helps fruiting. And if there are any other trees or shrubs nearby, check whether they aren’t blocking the sun.
