The marking quality is very high, durable, and readable even on small surfaces. For electronics, it’s often the only sensible solution, because mechanical methods could simply destroy the components. The key parameters are pulse frequency, single-pulse energy, and wavelength – all of that has to be matched to the material you’re going to process. Pay attention to the beam positioning system; the more precise it is, the better the results on small details. Marking design software is important too; it should be intuitive and allow quick changes. Operating costs are low because there are practically no wear parts, but the initial investment can be substantial.
