·1 year agoFor me, jasmine, weigela, ninebark, butterfly bush, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas, deutzias, spireas, forsythias, crabapples, and purple-leaf plum work great. They really do the job from spring to autumn. And if you want to add something that's both ornamental and edible – I recommend gooseberry.
