I believe gold is overvalued and there will be a correction downward. Silver, on the other hand, definitely won’t go down and will probably go up. Here is the gold-to-silver ratio over the past year:
| Date | Gold price (USD/oz) | Silver price (USD/oz) | to gold | February 2024 | 1,900 | 24 | 79.17 | | May 2024 | 1,950 | 25 | 78.00 | | August 2024 | 2,000 | 26 | 76.92 | | November 2024 | 2,100 | 28 | 75.00 | | February 2025 | 2,936.65 | 32.84 | 89.45
The gold-to-silver ratio measures the number of ounces of silver needed to buy one ounce of gold. As of February 2025, this ratio is about 89.45, indicating that silver is relatively undervalued compared to gold, which has been the trend over the past year.
Gold is not overvalued. It is expensive, but that’s due to the devaluation of fiat currencies. Since the money printing continues, gold will keep getting more expensive. BTC too, but in the event of a stock market crash there could be a very big drop.
Besides gold, it’s also worth considering an investment in platinum coins:
