Home remedies for scalp psoriasis – what really helped you?
Has anyone here used home, natural methods for scalp psoriasis and seen real results? I’d like to stop using steroids for a while and try gentler ways, but there’s so much online that it’s hard to choose what actually makes sense.

·8 months agoI make my own ointments – with yarrow extract in olive oil, lots of herbs, so it’s “real” and not just symbolic. I cut back on dairy, sugar, tomatoes, and peppers. I make my own fermented pickles, because store-bought ones are just not the same. For the scalp, once a week I use an oil macerate with tansy, and for washing sometimes tar shampoo. Brine from Kłodawa salt, sauna, cold plunges, and sulfur soap also help. To maintain the effects after these home treatments, I bought myself a Psorisel set – I use it between the “herbal” days so my scalp doesn’t rebel. I got it here:

·8 months agoThe ointment with tansy only worked on me for a while – probably too weak for my lesions. With scalp psoriasis, I needed something more consistent. What helped me was combining gentle shampoos with nourishing the scalp; for example, Psorisel shampoo gave me a better effect than typical herbal shampoos, because the scales came off without irritation.

·8 months agoFor me, the best were the ointments with sea buckthorn and betulin, as well as the ointment with propolis. I also tried ointments with tansy and celandine – those two were more soothing than healing, but they did bring relief from the itching. I combined that with gentle care, and in the evenings I applied Psorisel emulsion so that my scalp wouldn’t get too dry from those herbal ointments.
