Blackcurrant in the garden
Hello everyone! I’d like to plant a few blackcurrant bushes in the garden, but I don’t have any experience growing them. Could you suggest which varieties work best? I’m looking for something disease-resistant and fairly productive.

·1 year agoI've had Tiben for years – it fruits very abundantly, the berries are large and great for preserves. On top of that, it's disease-resistant, which was key for me, because I don't want to use chemicals. The second variety I have is Titania – the berries are a bit smaller, but also very tasty and the shrub is really low-maintenance. Remember to plant currants in a sunny spot, because they fruit poorly in the shade. If you're looking for seedlings, I recommend checking here: https://www.podkarpackiesady.pl/23-porzeczki. They have good prices and a large selection of varieties .
And they may be able to help you choose something too.
