Building a house in frame technology
I’m considering building a house and I’m wondering about timber frame construction instead of traditional masonry. How does this kind of building hold up in terms of durability? Can it really be built faster? And what about later insulation and keeping the house warm?

·1 year agoI know a guy who has a timber-frame house and, generally speaking, he likes it. The house was brought to him on a truck. All the prefabricated parts and elements had been assembled earlier in a production hall. The wood was well dried. That’s important so the building doesn’t show signs of wear after years. The build took a dozen or so days and ended at the closed shell stage. He did the finishing himself on his own. An important issue is to insulate well all the places through which heat can escape - the so-called thermal bridges. This type of house works very well with underfloor heating.
