Summary: pl_news_team announced plans to shut down the ODR platform soon.
In recent years, the European Commission has provided consumers with an online dispute resolution platform ("ODR Platform"), which could be used for out-of-court dispute resolution.
This ODR Platform will soon be shut down. As a result, sellers will no longer have to include links to the ODR Platform.
Here you can find detailed information about the new regulation repealing the existing regulation concerning the ODR Platform.
What is happening?
From March 20, 2025, filing complaints on the ODR Platform will no longer be possible.
By July 20, 2025, at the latest, all information regarding cases on the ODR Platform, including personal data, will be deleted, and the ODR Platform itself will be closed.
I am a consumer, what should I do?
You do not need to take any action. You just need to know that this tool for out-of-court dispute resolution will no longer be available. Information on using eBay's services can be found in the User Agreement, which contains the rules for handling complaints and, more generally, dispute resolution.
I am a seller, what should I do?
As of July 20, 2025, sales offers should no longer contain any information, links, or references to the ODR Platform. Since there will no longer be an obligation to include links to the ODR Platform and inform about it, you should remove the relevant links and information in advance. You may also inform buyers that after March 20, 2025, they will not be able to file complaints through the ODR Platform.
