Hull damage
Hello! We have damage in the underwater part of the hull; it will probably require cutting and welding on site without lifting the vessel out of the water - is this even technically feasible, or does the ship always have to be docked?

·2 weeks agoUnderwater cutting and welding is indeed a separate, highly specialized branch of diving work, which makes it possible to avoid costly and time-consuming docking in many hull repair cases. However, this requires extreme precision and experience, because working conditions underwater (visibility, current, pressure) significantly complicate the process compared to standard welding on the surface.
