Closed account... created again

A few years ago I had an account registered on eBay.
I had completed several successful transactions
For no apparent reason my account suddenly vanished.
The only thing I could do was create a new one... with the same email address.
I set up an account .. but now I don’t buy or sell anything anymore.. I’m not even sure whether it makes sense to use an eBay account in our part of the world... since accounts end up getting closed.
I started this topic not to air my grievances publicly.. but to ask whether similar things happen more often....
