Shipping via eBay International Shipping
Hello
I have this problem. I bought a fairly expensive computer in the States. Shipping method: eBay international shipping. The seller sent it from his store after a short while. It arrived at the eBay Distribution Center, which was supposed to send it to me. For 2 weeks now, the shipment status has not changed. Glendale Heights Distribution Center. Has anyone had a similar situation?

I’m in exactly the same situation right now. I’m waiting for a shipment to Krakow. It has been at their international center in Glendale for a week. They didn’t provide a shipment number for Poland. I’m starting to worry because it contains jewelry.
Another package that arrived at their international center on the same day got a new number the next day and is already in customs clearance in the Netherlands today.
How did your situation work out?

·2 years agoIt happened to me that the shipment suddenly showed up with the recipient. It looks like the scanner didn’t catch it earlier.
I think scanners, like people, are fallible. I had a case (apart from eBay) where the post office, with my express shipment, for a fairly high fee, sent it to Kraków from Warsaw. The address was Warsaw, but they sent it to Kraków. We had to wait patiently and, sure enough, it came back and was delivered after 2 weeks instead of the promised and paid-for 3 days. A refund was of course not due for the simple reason that there is no printout in the system to make that happen. So: patience.
Maybe the package ended up at customs clearance?

·2 years agoI mainly buy jewelry that isn’t available in Europe. For example, designer silver with gemstones. A few months ago, instead of a ring, they sent me an empty box. I thought it had been stolen at the post office or at customs.
This time it’s supposed to be a gold chain at a very good price. That’s why everything seems very suspicious.
I read reviews about this international center, and many people say that small valuables regularly go missing there.

·2 years agoAn empty box qualifies for opening a dispute that the purchase does not match the description. Jewelry is a risky business. I tried it. Reputable companies sent a pendant with one diamond, and a few of the accompanying ones were glass. Forget it, that’s my advice. Think about it, for the seller it’s no problem to sell it at a local precious metals buyer, so if the deal seems too tempting to be real, then it is. As for thefts in transit, unfortunately, they did happen in PL. The package was opened and a few things disappeared into the thief’s pocket. Since then I’ve been using a kind of seal in the form of white stickers on the seams. The recipient then knows that the package was opened and demands a witnessed opening.
