Hello. I sold an item on eBay - I am a private individual: not a company or a business owner. The item (used) was described in detail, photographed carefully, including the size according to the manufacturer as well as its exact dimensions shown on the aforementioned photos. The auction had the option selected of not accepting returns. The item reached the buyer, the money reached me - now the buyer wants to return the item because it turns out that the size doesn’t fit after all. Am I obliged to take the item back? I’ll add that I’m doubly stuck, because the money obtained this way has already been donated to charity (a sick child), which of course the buyer doesn’t have to care about, but for me personally it makes a big difference. Thank you in advance for any answers.

·2 years agoAccording to eBay rules, you are only obliged to accept a return if the item is not as described.
Reply that you will issue a refund after receiving the item and inspecting it.
However, if they open a dispute saying it is not as described, unfortunately eBay will block your funds and pay the buyer. My advice: ask them to send it back and wait for eBay’s decision. This will affect your seller rating.
