Hello
For the past few months I’ve been selling goods on eBay to the UK. Of course, eBay was collecting VAT at 20% on my behalf and remitting it to the British tax office. I was issuing 0% invoices and everything made sense. A month ago I registered for VAT UK and I have an active GB VAT number. I entered it in eBay and it was approved. Shouldn’t eBay stop collecting VAT on my behalf in this situation, since now I am the one required to issue invoices with 20% VAT and remit it to HMRC? Right now I can see that eBay is still collecting that 20% and reducing my payouts. In this way I’m paying VAT twice for every product sold......
Thanks in advance for your help.

·2 years agoFor me, eBay charges the tax from the buyer, which appears on my statement deducted from the transaction total, but then it's added back. So it zeros out. Check whether eBay in the UK does the same
