Restriction of the sales account and withholding of funds
Summary: The thread titled "Restriction of the sales account and withholding of funds" does not contain any detailed content, only the placeholder text "None," suggesting that the discussion is unavailable or has been removed.
Business account, linked to a business bank account, about 20 sales transactions. Watch industry - most transactions went through without any problems, a few returns, one dispute that I opened myself after contacting eBay support first. In this industry, customers often question authenticity after seeking opinions on discussion forums. After the dispute was closed in the buyer's favor, they were refunded, and the customer is sending the item back. eBay blocked my selling account for verification purposes and, besides confirming the address and a second ID document, asked for purchase invoices or proof of purchase showing the seller's contact details, exact item specification, even the seller's contact details. I kept sending them gradually, because it required accounting involvement (some purchases were from last year). I am not responsible for the content of the invoices issued, but neither the tax office nor customs clearance (some were imported) had any objections to these documents. Of course, they did not include sellers' phone numbers; some are purchase documents from another European auction platform - sent over. After sending them, the sales block remained in place two hours later. Fine, if you don't want to work with me then okay, but freezing funds for 170 days or longer (that was the information, the canned response I got from customer service or a bot), so that the relevant department can review payouts and secure the funds for future claims, is a really ugly move. The reason eBay blocks funds for a month after a transaction is precisely to secure claims - if the transaction is completed and the customer left positive feedback, then what is the need to freeze funds for half a year "or more"? I mean, I understand that on the scale of a large number of such situations and customers from all over the world, holding funds for half a year from several thousand customers or more generates pretty decent interest, but come on. I run a business, I have taxes to pay, and I don't make a habit of giving out interest-free loans, because this is not the time or place for that. We're talking about 8,900 PLN from two transactions: one ended with positive feedback, the other with a customer who bought a total of 5 watches and has no complaints. On Polish FB there is no eBay page (there are for other countries), there is no phone number (obviously), so I wanted to ask whether it is possible to contact someone from eBay who would be able to help with this issue, and not just give a completely unhelpful stock response written by A.I.?

·2 years agoHi,
how did you get the money out of them?

·2 years agoI had a similar situation about 12 years ago, I was selling old stuff, they blocked over 20k dollars from me, demanding receipts for what I sold, and most of the things I bought at foreign flea markets where there are no receipts, cash registers, contracts. They hold onto the money deliberately under any old pretext, because they’re turning it over. If they try to play smart, then you get the money back with a bit of “smartness” yourself; I got mine back and stopped selling here, too much nerves, stress, and time. Not to mention the losses caused by dishonest buyers, scammers, thieves, who file disputes, PayPal gives them their money back and you’re left with your hand in the chamber pot, without the goods and without the cash.
I read this forum and it makes me laugh because 12 years ago it was the same as it is now. So I have no intention of selling anything here and I warn the gullible who are counting on eBay being a спасение after Allegro deadbeats, loan sharks and thieves
