Water drainage during balcony renovation
When renovating the balcony, I'm worried about water drainage after laying the new floor over the old tiles. How can I ensure proper water drainage when installing the floor on pads, and is this something that's realistically manageable on your own?

·2 weeks agoWater drainage with a new floor on spacers is a key element that has to be planned before buying anything. With a spacer system, water flows through the gaps between the panels and falls onto the old floor, from where it drains through the existing drain. This works if the drain isn't blocked by the spacers or isn't in a spot where the panels sit directly over it without a gap. When planning the panel layout, check where the drain is and leave a larger gap there, or use a special grating panel in that spot. With clip systems, the gaps between panels are usually 5-8mm, which is enough for normal rainfall
