Passport number or driver’s license to update data
Summary: The discussion focuses on the topic 'NUMER PASZPORT LUB PRAWOJAZDY DO UAKTUALNIENIA DANYCH' (passport or driver's license number for data update). However, the content of the messages is not provided.
3 days ago I sold an item. Ebay immediately blocked the money and is demanding that I update my details. I have to enter a document number, and the options are PASZPORT and PRAWOJAZDY. I don’t have a PASZPORT and I don’t have a PRAWOJAZDY. What I do have is a DOWÓD OSOBISTY, like everyone else here. So I can’t meet Ebay’s requirements. I’ve had an Ebay account since 2013 and a PayPal account since 2010. Until today I’ve used PayPal payments hundreds of times. For buying, and especially for selling, because that’s what Ebay wanted. Without linking the Ebay account to the PayPal account, no transaction could take place. On PayPal, to receive money, you have to send a scan of your ID card and a document with the same first name, last name and address (a phone bill, electricity bill). I sent everything to PayPal and since 2010 I’ve had no problems with PayPal. I was thoroughly verified by PayPal, and now Ebay is doing the same thing. Now the problem with Ebay is starting. Since I can’t update my details, I can’t withdraw the money. PASZPORT or PRAWOJAZDY is not an essential document in Poland, whereas DOWÓD OSOBISTY is, and you don’t have to have the others. I don’t travel abroad and I don’t have a car. That’s why the requirement to update the account details with only PASZPORT or PRAWOJAZDY is impossible for millions of Poles to meet. Ebay doesn’t reply to my messages, and I’ve sent 3. In 2-3 days the impatient buyer will start pestering me with messages asking whether the parcel has been sent. I’m not going to send the parcel to the buyer if I don’t have the money in hand or the certainty that I’ll be able to withdraw it. After the documents Ebay wants and the fact that they don’t reply to messages, I don’t have that certainty. Besides, as luck would have it, I don’t have any money right now and I need to withdraw it to pay for sending the parcel. Explaining to the buyer that Ebay blocked the seller’s money will end with the buyer canceling the purchase and leaving negative feedback. I wouldn’t trust a seller whose money Ebay blocks either. For now I took screenshots. It looks like if I don’t have a PASZPORT or PRAWOJAZDY, Ebay won’t unblock the money. In a few days I’m going to see a lawyer and I’ll sue this portal. I’ll send a pre-litigation demand for payment to eBay GmbH, Albert-Einstein-Ring 2-6, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany and a letter to the Online Dispute Resolution platform offered by the European Commission at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. Does anyone here have a similar problem ???????

·2 years agoI used to sell old junk here that I bought for myself at flea markets, where there are no cash registers, contracts, or receipts. I started selling things off. PayPal blocked over $20,000 for me and demanded invoices from me for items I sold under the pretext of combating money laundering....... No screenshots help, no explanations help, only the savvy know what needs to be done in such a case..... I got my money back and ended my selling here because of this and because of abuse and fraud by buyers.

·4 years agoWriting to eBay didn’t help at all, but in the meantime I had already gotten my passport. Because that’s what I suspected
that without a passport you’re stuck. Don’t do the "wild jungle:))" passport and photos cost 200 zł and you have a passport in your drawer, a lawyer will charge more for advice.
And as for the customer, the money should have been refunded to him. And if it isn’t a large amount then send the goods. In other words, take the risk.
After the account got going, they unlocked my money and transferred it to my account within 2 business days
The thing is, I already have this connection to my bank account
Only now the service has gotten much more expensive:)) from around 15% to 35%

OP4 years agoYes, I could get a passport just like YOU. At first I wanted to do that, cough up those 200 zł. But that’s not the point. Ebay simply has me in the shitter and doesn’t reply to messages. It blocks the money and demands documents that aren’t required in Poland. Yesterday I went to a lawyer at my Commune Office for free. I already have a letter written by the lawyer to Ebay titled: Pre-litigation demand for payment. Of course it’s about compensation for my losses resulting from the unjustified blocking of the sale + obstructing free access to an account that is not in arrears. I have screenshots of my account showing 0,00 zł due, and Ebay blocks the sale and claims the account is in arrears. I wrote to Ebay on Facebook today, and they deleted my posts. So I also made screenshots of my posts on Facebook so there would be another trace of my writing to Ebay, which Ebay brazenly deletes. The lawyer said he was surprised that Polish Ebay users haven’t sued Ebay in court long ago. After reading my screenshots, which I brought to him, he said he hadn’t had such a simple case in a long time, where in this case Ebay is violating Polish law. That’s why I won’t back down.

·2 years agoTwo years have passed. So how’s it going with that? Did it work out?
I had the same thing, but I decided to delete my eBay account and stop selling through those thieves. I’ll never scan and send my documents to anyone anywhere!!
