Charging VAT/customs fee from the UK?
Hey, I ordered a scented candle from the UK, the goods value was 14GBP, shipping 12GBP, and around 9GBP in import fees was added to that (the question is whether they include VAT, for example?). Will I have to pay VAT when I receive the package? I ordered books from the UK quite a while ago, and back then I think it was still within the EU. And now I’m reading that they charge some fees despite paying import charges when ordering?

·1 year agoIncludes VAT, but they may charge it again at the border. In that case, eBay will refund it upon presentation of the receipt

OP1 year agoOK, thanks. And I just got info that DPD will handle it, do company couriers also collect on delivery, or is that more the postal service’s thing? Maybe it’ll be possible to avoid that. I read on the shipping tracker that DPD’s customs agency is in the Netherlands and up to 22 euros there are generally no fees, depending on what value was declared in total...
