Issue of an incorrectly granted refund on eBay - I need help
Summary: The discussion appears to revolve around an issue with an incorrectly granted refund on eBay, with zens.pl seeking assistance. It involves several participants, including kano913, pogues2005, and mobilempoland, engaging in the conversation. However, the specific details of the exchanges are not provided.
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience on eBay. I was selling an iPhone to a customer in Nigeria, but I ran into a problem that, in my opinion, points to a serious defect in eBay’s system.
The order was shipped via UPS (tracking number 1ZF820W90496045243) and, according to the latest tracking information, the shipment has not yet reached the buyer. Nevertheless, the customer reported on eBay that they had not received the item. eBay, without checking the shipment status, immediately refunded them.
Right after receiving this information, I filed an appeal, but I’m worried that eBay may ignore my request. If that happens, I will lose both the product and the money - a total of 3200 zł.
I’m providing the tracking number on purpose to illustrate the problem in eBay’s system. I’m concerned by how easily this platform can be manipulated at the seller’s expense.
Has anyone had a similar experience? What steps would you take to resolve this situation? Does eBay usually accept such appeals?
Thanks in advance for any help and support.
Best regards,

·2 years agoYou are not the first and not the last person whom eBay and PayPal helped rob. Read the old threads, look around on Google. I was here 12 years ago and today I came in out of curiosity; it doesn't surprise me that nothing has changed and it's getting worse and worse
I had messages, screenshots, videos, and nothing helped; eBay and PayPal leave such a loophole and scammers live off it.

One of you should try to settle the matter amicably and write to me so that it will be easier for me and I won t write such nonsense. It s a shame that a company like ebay cheats!!!!!! I am asking for specific information and contact with someone who has a true opinion from your company, rather than answering like a robot that does not explain anything and does not solve the problem. ·2 years agolisten, on eBay they’re screwing us sellers over BIG TIME! do the same and don’t have any scruples - they also gave me back over 3000 zł for 2 items sent to the UK, which were delivered right after the funds were refunded to the buyers, and they write to me that optimistically they hope I’ll work it out with the buyer who has the goods and the funds - and they **bleep** the seller - remember, on eBay only BUYER protection works

OP2 years agowell, about a month ago eBay replied saying okay, I’m right, they’ll correct the amount within 7 days. and what? 7 days passed, I wrote an email and they replied: unfortunately they won’t correct it, and that I should write to the returns and accounting department. but where exactly I’m supposed to write, they didn’t say. what kind of magic and idiocy is that. as if someone like that couldn’t write to me. it’s blatant deception and manipulation. That’s how scammers act who don’t want to give the item back or send it to us. what kind of service is this that doesn’t want to explain anything, just writes something different every time depending on who gets the message, they don’t even bother to read the previous correspondence, just write the same thing from the beginning. damn..... how much and brainless Yetii
I’ll skip the fact that their messages arrive as garbled nonsense, not encoded properly, and you have to decipher what’s written in them.
I’m supposed to pay. I wrote another email and

OP2 years agowell, crap, I was still hoping he wouldn’t pick up the package and I’d get the phone back, but he picked it up and happily writes through eBay, plus says he didn’t receive a refund from eBay and the money is on eBay and that I should contact eBay, etc. I wrote to eBay but so far, silence. I’m out a phone and minus 3000 PLN in my eBay account. Luckily they paid me the money before opening the dispute, but what good is that if I can’t sell anything now because eBay will take it from me. what a messed-up system they have, eBay is stealing from all of us, this is unacceptable and for me it has signs of a crime under 286 of the Penal Code. they want to extort money unlawfully, that’s all.

·3 years agoIn my opinion, it's best to open an appeal only after tracking shows that the item has been delivered, not after a possible refund to the buyer, which often happens automatically. At the stage when the shipment is still in transit, there's no point in appealing, because there are no grounds to consider such an appeal justified. + 2) as someone else already wrote, exclude African shipping destinations like Nigeria right away
kano913
·2 years agoIn Canada, the USA, Australia, etc., there is no tracking - delivery confirmation is positive feedback, a week after leaving such feedback, a thief from Canada reported the parcel as undelivered and robbed me with eBay's help.

·3 years agoNever mind, you were robbed by eBay—unfortunately, it’s your own fault, because to African countries including South Africa you can send a postcard, and they’ll probably steal that too. Once I had a gold cigarette case listed for 50,000 USD—some pastor contacted me with a shipping address that didn’t exist—I checked it in max. 3 minutes, for eBay only profits matter, and Poles are the new Indians to be robbed or "gifted infected blankets with smallpox". In short, for eBay you are not a person, but a source of commission—you’re supposed to pay, pay, and keep quiet because Yankee eBay in Poland is above the law like the rest of the US corporations—UNTOUCHABLE.

OP2 years agothey have their own representation at the uni, so they fall under the law like everyone else

OP3 years agoI’m removing all offers and closing my account on this thieving portal. I thought miracles were happening on Allegro, but here they’ve really gone too far. I will definitely spread the word massively through articles on all the possible portals I have access to, and on Wykop your portal is one big bottomless pit and a scam

OP3 years agowell, that’s just lovely. but for me this is clearly eBay’s action, which fulfills the hallmarks of fraud under Article 286 of the Penal Code, and if they cheat me and don’t take my appeal into account, I’ll file a report against eBay and let them explain themselves, because they’re the ones who led to the phone being stolen and they’re the ones making the refund to the fraudster.
