The buyer cancelled the transaction right after placing the order, and shortly after also reported a return of the item. The item was not shipped and the money was refunded immediately due to the buyer cancelling the order. How do I cancel the return of the item that the buyer reported now?

It can't be done (I think), I didn't find it when I had a similar situation. It expired on its own after some time without repercussions. Don't worry about it
