Credit card - do I need to add it to the account?

Finally, I managed to verify/update my bank account. There is also an option to add a credit card - do you have to do this if you only sell on eBay?
It says it’s needed for sales fees, but eBay has been deducting auction fees from the amount of the sold item for some time now.
I’m asking because when adding a credit card now, they also ask for a PIN, and I don’t remember whether they required that when I linked my old card.

However, it's worth checking eBay's rules in your region, because fee policy can vary depending on the country. As for the PIN question when adding the card, it may be a standard security procedure.
