I’m going to place my first order, which will be over €150. It’ll be my first time dealing with customs, and I’d like to make sure I understand it correctly.
I’d like to buy collectible cards in the USA for an old PS3 game, The Eye of Judgment (if that matters)
Total is around $350 including shipping.

So I just need to add VAT to the final price, since customs duty is 0%?
And will I be asked to provide the code so they can calculate the customs duty based on it, or do the officials check it themselves based on the seller’s information?

·3 years agoActually, there’s no customs duty and they most likely won’t charge tax.
The shipment most likely won’t be checked at all.
You don’t have to do anything. If they charge any fees, they’ll send you a bill or the carrier will collect them.

OP3 years agoWhat exactly are they charging based on? At their own discretion, or will they ask me what exactly it is and under which code it qualifies?
After all, since 2021 every package has been subject to taxation, so why wouldn’t they check?

·3 years agoWhat is it will be written on the customs declaration, as well as the value, and the customs officers have the codes with them, they don't have to ask.
Realistically, not every one is checked, and of those that are checked, not every one is charged fees.
