Hello. I believe that eBay has gone to the dogs, and I get the impression as if it had been bought back by the mafia.

Not only buyers have problems, but sellers too. I listed an item for £4.99 Apparently the buyer paid 0.92 for their protection, as shown in their breakdown, but the sellers were charged this cost, deducted from the listed item, as also shown in the seller settlement they are informed about the income. So did they take that £0.92 from both of them!? Heh
Then it comes to the seller's profit, which is the next joke! My profit £8.74. That's outrageous!! They add shipping costs to the profit, and then still deduct 10% tax from that in the monthly breakdown. As we know, the buyer adds the packaging and delivery of such a parcel to the post office themselves. So from an item listed at 4.99, the pure earnings on it are about £3 (provided you sold your item from the shelf at home) And now you have to pray the parcel arrives, because lately they don't arrive - magic. If it doesn't arrive, you get nothing plus they take it from your bank account for postage, so you're at a loss, because you sent the shipment, but it didn't arrive and you have to refund the buyer.. heh.. Scary to list anything expensive! Because not only do you list it for next to nothing so you can be noticed without paying for advertising, which gives you practically nothing, because most people pay for it to be visible on the site, so Chinese sellers still overshadow you heh . Someone wins, the fees eat you up, and then suddenly after 2 weeks, when you're waiting for the money for the item, it turns out it didn't arrive, and despite proof of posting, you're burdened with repaying the buyer and an additional return shipping cost. And of course, if you're sending a gold necklace from grandma, you preferred the more expensive shipping. In compensation from the post office you get postage stamps as the equivalent of the postage for the parcel itself - and that's it, because you don't have proof of purchase for the item (receipt etc.) I still have a few things to sell, I'll list them and great...I stay far away from this. Let them wallow in their own filth.

·1 year agoPurchase protection is not taken from both parties; instead, it is first added to the amount from the seller and then taken by eBay.
As for the “profit” with the shipping cost accounted for in it... It’s probably a case of using the wrong word, because “payment” would simply be more appropriate.
This kind of calculating the sales commission is probably meant to curb the option of inflating shipping costs in order to avoid the seller having to pay a large commission on the sale of the item.
That way, an item for 100 and shipping for 20 is the same for eBay as an item for 20 and shipping for 100.
Back in the day on the site starting with “a”, people used to pull stuff like that (because you paid commission on the amount for the sold item), so “a” imposed fairly rigid shipping costs, and on top of that they calculate commission on the goods, commission on shipping, plus surcharges for shipping methods, for smarta, etc. Although payu is commission-free.
On eBay it is - as you can see - somewhat similar 😉 Everyone is milking it hard ;D
