So I’d like to buy these shoes and I have a question
Shipping:
$21.42 International Priority Shipping to Poland via the Global Shipping Program | See details
Import charges:
$26.76 (amount confirmed at checkout)
No additional import charges on delivery
Does that mean I’ll have to pay $48.18 for shipping?

·3 years agoIn my opinion, this is not VAT, but another hidden commission charged by eBay, this time from the buyer, for alleged customs fees. And sometimes it is refunded if UC itself calculates the customs fees. In my case, for the purchase of 7 antique books from the UK that cost 6.93 GBP, eBay added 7.27 GBP in customs fees and 33.57 GBP as part of Global Shipping. In my opinion, these supposedly import-related charges should be dealt with by regulatory authorities.

·3 years agoWith Global Shipping Program, you pay customs fees upfront. You will pay $48.18.
The wording "No additional import charges on delivery" is inaccurate.
At the border, they may charge the fees again. If that happens, you should request a refund of the fees from Ebay, which they will process after you provide proof of the payment made at the border
There are several discussions about this on the forum (for example, enter "VAT charged" or "double VAT" in the forum search box).

so 21, 42 $ (that’s shipping)
and from 105 $ VAT fee 23 % is $26.76
so + =48.18
the global shipping program automatically adds an import fee to you - which, as we know, with 1 pair to PL our Polish customs office would allow such a pair to circulate

OP11 years agoSo if I ordered one pair, would I pay that $105 + $48.18?

·11 years agoYES
unless the seller sends the package priority by USPS
not through the global shipping program (or find a seller with a different shipping method)
ask if they would be willing to send the shipment to PL themselves because with 1 pair our UC up to a value of 150 euros does not charge customs fees
so $26 would stay in your pocket
although sellers like to take the easy way out (for a few dollars they send it to a point in the USA ---- then you get a super long number and wait another 1 week for the shipment to move ------ after 2 weeks InPost takes over the shipment and after 3 days it's delivered... in short, you wait a loooong 3 weeks not like with USPS, around 2 weeks)
