Withdrawal from purchase

Hello,
I won an auction on ebay.de, but I have to back out of the purchase. I bid on the item for a friend, but after winning the auction, my friend unfortunately said he no longer wants the item. The amount is about 420 euros. I sent the seller a message asking to cancel the auction, but I received a reply that the seller does not agree and I have to complete the transaction. What consequences could there be if I do not pay for the item I won? Can I back out of the purchase if the seller does not agree to it?

·1 year agoJust don’t pay. There are no consequences unless you don’t pay often, then they’ll send a reminder.
Don’t contact that seller and leave them a negative for unhelpful customer service.

·1 year agoI’m canceling the purchase because the listing showed the price in złoty, not in euro
