I haven’t bought on eBay for almost a year; yesterday I bought something from outside the EU and I was pretty surprised when eBay ripped me off upfront for VAT? And there was no way to bypass it.
I’m curious whether the shipment will actually go through automatically with customs clearance and VAT payment.
Besides that, I don’t know what kind of shipping they call "Expedited International Shipping", but who handles it and how it will turn out.
It could get interesting if it turns out they collected VAT and the shipment still ends up in customs clearance and I’ll have to pay something again... then things will start ... because I definitely won’t let them get away with it that easily.

·2 years agoeBay can sometimes surprise you with its fees. It’s damn frustrating if it weren’t for those surprises. I’d also be curious to see how that shipment turns out. "Expedited International Shipping" sounds a bit mysterious, doesn’t it? I have no idea who handles it or how all this works.
But yeah, if you’ve already paid VAT, then it should be settled,

OP2 years agoI contacted the supplier here FEDEX, they don't know anything about the shipment clearance being on DDT (payment on the sender's side), the shipment is normal, meaning customs duties and taxes are paid by me TWICE ????
Well then, I was SCAMMED by eBay for the supposed "VAT" amount, meaning they took 45.54 $ from me for nothing
Well, I’m not letting this go — I’ll report it to PayPal, and if that doesn’t help, I’ll go to the bank handling the CC transaction for a chargeback.
They’re not pulling that kind of thing on me.
