    Pitney Bowes redelivery

Summary: The discussion began with bartostruszczysk_0 referencing a topic related to Pitney Bowes concerning a redelivery issue. splendo53 responded, but both posts contained no content to elaborate on the details or conclusions of the discussion.

    Hello.

Recently I had an unpleasant situation. Namely, I ordered a package from the USA, and it was covered by the international shipping program.

Everything was fine until the package got into DPD's hands. I used the DPD pick-up option. And that's where the problem appeared. Apparently, at that point they decided to refuse to accept the package. DPD immediately decided to return the package to the sender (in this case Pitney Bowes). Ebay sent me an email saying that the purchased item could not be delivered. In the same email there was a link “Verify delivery address” so that Pitney Bowes could send the package again. I used this option, however I received no feedback. At this point the package is back with the sender.

And here I have a question: Has anyone ever encountered such a situation? And if so, how long did it take Pitney Bowes to resend the shipment.

I'll write here because I recently personally had a similar situation.

In short, I ordered one item from the UK at the end of last year with shipping via the GSP program. The package with this item arrived in Poland without any problems, but it so happened that delivery of this package by DPD was supposed to take place on January 8 this year, and I happened to know that I wouldn't be at home that day to be able to receive the package, so I figured that since DPD allows redirecting a package to a DPD Pickup point and leaving the package there the same day, I used that option, choosing the nearest pickup point, which I had used locally more than once and it never caused any problems.

And that's where the trouble started — the pickup point I chose probably either refused to accept the package or the courier didn't find anyone there. Unfortunately, in DPD, after setting up the package redirection, there was no option to redirect it back to the original address again or change anything, e.g. the delivery date. What did DPD do? It returned the package to the sender (I don't know in this situation who the package is actually returned to, whether directly to the seller or to the shipping center in the UK handled by Pitney Bowes, which sent that package to my original address) instead of attempting delivery of the package again.

A week has passed since then, and according to DPD tracking the package is currently in the Netherlands, while the Pitney Bowes tracking falsely marked the package as delivered, even though I did not receive it.

In such a situation I have a question: which company should I contact about this? I'm looking for any contact at all.

I spoke a few days ago with DPD Poland, but in that situation their hands were already tied and they couldn't do anything about it. I also didn't receive any email from eBay saying that the package could not be delivered.

I notified the seller about this situation, but what happened, what I am describing, is absolutely not his fault.

If it helps anyone, I'm providing the tracking numbers:

    Pitney Bowes: UPAAH000000080800437

    DPD: 05162186270540
