Buying an item on eBay USA
I bought the item but the seller didn’t specify the shipping costs before the purchase. I asked the seller several times about the shipping cost, but got no response. After the purchase I also kept asking the seller for the shipping cost for a long time. When they finally stated that the shipping cost is half the value of the item, can I cancel the purchase?

Of course you can back out.
In a transaction in my eBay there is an option to do that.
Or just don't pay. You can report the seller to eBay
