Buying on eBay from China or is VAT included in the price

I want to buy an item from China — will VAT be added automatically and included in the price, or will VAT still be added later upon delivery? Sometimes when I bought things, VAT was listed in the price description as a component, but not here. The same goes for purchases from Japan — they don't mention VAT, only warn that import taxes may have to be paid.
Does eBay always add all taxes and VAT?
Could it be that I pay VAT when the package is delivered?
Is there any way to tell whether all taxes are included in the price right away?

·1 year agoDuring payment, eBay will display all price components. EBay charges VAT based on the delivery address, and if they calculate it again at the border (which sometimes happens), then upon presenting proof of payment, eBay will refund the VAT collected)

OP1 year agoWhen I clicked Buy Now, there was no note there, no “price breakdown” element, no “VAT has been charged,” and sometimes there is such a note, so I have doubts whether they won’t slap VAT on me when I pick up the package. When browsing EBAY and going to a specific item page, the price goes up and there’s info about VAT, but here there’s no such thing, or from Japan there isn’t either.
If I buy this, will it be for the displayed price, or will I still have to pay VAT later? Or maybe only after I confirm payment will it pop up, and then it’ll already be too late for anything. I’m not a seasoned shopping veteran, so that’s why I’m asking. I know this may be annoying for you, but I want to be sure.
