Payment held due to a "too large amount" and an error in bank account verification
Summary: jan-jurczak raises the issue of payments being held back because of an amount that's too high and the problem with verifying the bank account.
I’ll describe my situation.
I’m a photographer working in Berlin. I moved from Poland to Berlin not that long ago. Emigration isn’t easy. To pay for my apartment, I had to sell my camera.
At this point, Ebay has held my funds. I can’t withdraw them. On Ebay, I have a Polish account. I have a bank account in Polish Mbank and in German n26. It seems to me, maybe incorrectly, that having a Polish Ebay account means I can’t register a German bank. I’d really like to register my Polish account, but ebay rejects it. The standard account verification doesn’t work, and the statement generated from Mbank doesn’t have my address.
The second problem is that Ebay has held my funds for a month. At least that’s what I was told in the generated messages. The reason given was that I have too little turnover and too few sales to be able to withdraw money to me for the next month, and that the funds will only be paid out at the end of September.
Has anyone here encountered such problems? Is this common? How can I deal with this? Because of this situation, I have no way to pay for my apartment.
